Vocational School Project

A Community Center for Holy Trinity Church

The idea to construct a vocational school was born of the devastation that COVID-19 caused the community. People lost jobs and the dignity of honest work, kids dropped out of school, and consequently, people turned to idle activities that were not healthy spiritually or physically. Instead of simply providing donations for food, we want to support people so they can fish for themselves. The capital project will hopefully employ the locals in the Holy Trinity Parish and later continue to educate them for future employment.

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the challenges girls and poor people endure. School closures increased vulnerability to early pregnancy, with many girls and women facing exploitation and unintended pregnancies. The surge in teenage and unwanted pregnancies brings both far-reaching psychological and physical effects, as well as economic constraints.

Supporting Livelihoods is fundraising for USD265,000 to build a vocational school with educational programs to equip young mothers and the broader community with technical skills. These skills will make it easier for them to achieve self-sustenance, start small businesses, and attain economic empowerment, ultimately reducing gender inequality.

Importantly, the vocation will offer daycare services and kindergarten programs, allowing young mothers to attend school with their children.

We sincerely thank our generous donors who have contributed USD 60,000 to this noble cause. We ask for further donations to complete the project.
